This pendant of embossed gold leaf represents ʿIštār, an ancient fertility goddess in the near east. She stands naked in a hieratic pose, holding a flower (?) in each hand with her hair arranged in Egyptian style.
Provenance: Ugarit (Ras Shamra).
Era: Late Bronze Age (circa 1500 BC).
Material: gold.
