A Sample of Ugarit's Pottery

 


A product of Ugarit's workshops in the Late Bronze Age, the so-called spindle-bottle came in different sizes and was used for different purposes. The piece shown was excavated from the archaeological site of Ras Shamra in the 1960's. 


Provenance: Ugarit
Era: circa 1200 BC. 
Dimensions: height 27.5 cm, maximum width 8.5 cm.
