Standing on a flat rectangular base, the bull lowers its head and straightens its front legs as if preparing for a counterattack in the course of tauromaquia. The pedestal carries the following Greek inscription:
ΘΑΜΑΝΑΙΟΣ ΟΥΕΤΡΑΝΟΣ ΟΥΕΤΡΑΝΟΣ ΕΥΣΕΒΩΝ ΑΝΕΘΕΗΚΕΝ ΘΕΩ ΩΡΙΩΝΙ
"Thamanaios, the veteran, piously dedicated this to Orion".
