A Mirror with a Gypsum Frame

 

This small mirror is round in shape except for the stump of a handle. The glass sheet is surrounded by a gypsum frame ornamented with two concentric circles with the space in between filled with a zigzagged line.

Provenance: Dibsī (northeast of Aleppo). 
Dimensions: diameter of the frame 8.5 cm and thickness  1 cm. Diameter of the glass sheet 3.3 cm. . 
Era: Roman.
