A Woman and a Mirror II

 

This statuette represents a woman standing and holding a framed mirror in the shape of a large disc above her head. The glass itself is absent. The upper extremities form right angles at the elbows. The breasts are prominent and suggest, along with the curves of the hips, that the person is naked. The woman stands on a small pedestal.

Substance: alabaster.
Dimensions: heights 24.5 cm, diameter of the mirror including the frame 6.5 cm. 
Era: Roman.
