Four-Eyed Mirror

The frame is all that's left of this mirror. The reflecting surface is so tiny, making it virtually useless except for decorative purposes. The ornament consists of four elements shaped like eyes.

Provenance: Dibsī (northeast of Aleppo).
Substance: gypsum.
Diameters: frame 11 cm, mirror 2 cm.
Era: Roman.
Collection of the National Museum of Damascus
