This bowl, which has been reassembled from fragments, is remarkable because its surface is not only polished but also decorated with an incised design consisting of a band of triangles filled with oblique lines between two thick wavy lines. It is the oldest bowl of its kind to be found in syria.
Provenance: Al-Ǧurf al-ʾAḥmar, Syria.
Age: Neolithic (circa 9000 BC).
Material: chlorite.
