Female Figurine


In the Near East, clay was worked more than any other material except flint. The oldest objects made of clay are hand-modeled female figurines hardened in fire. 


Provenance: tell Aswad.
Era: Late Bronze Age (circa 7000 BC).
Material: terra cotta.
Dimensions: 5 x 2.3 x 1.9 cm.
