An Ancirent Mirror with a Square Frame

 

This glass mirror is fixed with gypsum onto its limestone frame. The mirror itself is made of thin, convex, and transparent glass. The frame is square in shape and is the only extant specimen with this feature.

Provenance: Dibsī (northeast of Aleppo). 
Dimensions; 7 x 7 cm for the frame with a thickness of 1.4 cm. 
Era: Roman.
