Gold Covers for Bronze Mirrors

 

Early mirrors were made of bronze, were small in size, and were usually round in shape. The back of the mirror often carried elaborate ornamental designs. Some mirrors were kept in gold boxes. The two covers in the attached photo belong (?) to two gold mirror containers and are shaped like fans.

Substance: gold. 
Diameters: 9.5 cm, and 8.2 cm. 
Era: Roman.
