Pan and His Syrinx

 


This statuette represents the shepherd god Pan playing his syrinx. The instrument usually comprises seven pipes.

Substance: terracotta
Dimensions: height: 104 mm, diameter of the base 35-37 mm. 
Era: 2nd century BCE.
Collection: National Museum of Damascus (acquired 1969).
