Lady on a Pedestal

 


Rectangular relief representing a young woman standing on a pedestal. She is dressed in Palmyrenian style, holds a distaff and a spindle in her left hand, and wears her jewelry. 

Provenance: Palmyra (Ṭāʿī' hypogaeum). 
Substance: limestone. 
Dimensions: H 62 cm, W 26 cm, D 7 cm. 
Era: second century CE.
