Young Priest (Ṭāʿī' hypogaeum)

 


Bust of a young priest crowned with a hieratic headdress. He holds a vase of incense with his left hand and a bottle of sacred oil with the right. 

Provenance: Palmyra (Ṭāʿī' hypogaeum). 
Substance: limestone. 
Dimensions: H 66 cm, W 16.5 cm. 
Era: second century CE.
