Sayf ad-Dīn al-Qaymarī

Sayf ad-Dīn al-Qaymarī, founder of the hospital on the ǧabal (Qāsīyūn), was one of the emirs most famous for their bravery ... He died in battle at Nāblus and was buried in his qubba opposite the hospital. Aḏ-Ḏahabī mentions his death under the year 653 (an-Nuʿaymī).

Ibn Kaṯīr notes under year 654: In this year died the founder of the maristān at aṣ-Ṣāliḥīyyā, the great emir Sayf ad-Dīn abu al-Ḥasan Yūsuf bin abu al-Fawāris bin Mūsik al-Qaymarī, the Kurd. The greatest emirs of the al-Qaymarī tribe stood erect in front of him, as is the custom in the presence of kings. Among his greatest charities was the foundation of the hospital on the slope of Qāsīyūn.
