This school for teaching the tradition of Prophet Muḥammad is contiguous to al-madrasā al-Muršidīyyā from the east and separated by a narrow lane from al-madrasā al-ʾAtābikīyyā to the east.
Dār al-Ḥadīṯ al-ʾAšrafīyyā al-Maqdisīyyā, on the slope of Qāsīūn, at the bank of Nahr Yazīd, opposite the turbā of the vizier Taqī ad-Dīn at-Takrītī, east of al-Muršidīyyā, and west of al-ʾAtābikīyyā, built by al-malik al-ʾAšraf Muẓaffar ad-Dīn Mūsā son of al-ʿĀdil for al-Ḥāfiẓ Ǧamāl ad-Dīn ʿAbdallah son of Surūr al-Maqdisī, who died before the school was finished (1).
The locality is exactly indicated. There was another dār al-ḥadīṯ of the same name in town, mentioned by ibn H̱allikān (2), built for aš-Šayiẖ ʿUṯmān son of aṣ-Ṣalāḥ.
