This marble statue was excavated at Apamea by the Mission Archéologique Belge and displayed at the National Museum of Damascus during its 1969 exhibition of Classical artifacts; it may represent Asclepius. god of medicine in Greek mythology. The upper chest and right arm are bare. The head is amputated, and the right upper extremity beyond the elbow is missing. Dimensions are not provided.
