Bolaya & Molaʿ (Tomb of Ṭāʿī)

 


A very beautiful relief representing a rich Palmyrene lady (Bolaya) accompanied by her brother (Molaʿ). She leans on a cushion and her jewelry box is placed beside her. 

Provenance: Palmyra (Ṭāʿī' hypogaeum). 
Substance: limestone. 
Dimensions: 55 cm x 82 cm. 
Era: Late second century CE.
