Donated to the National Museum of Damascus in 1943 by. Mr. Antoine Haddad, this is a 25.5 (height including the pedestal) x 6.8 cm bronze statuette of Aphrodite (Roman Venus), the Goddess of Love & Beauty. Holding her sandal in the right hand with her right knee gracefully bent forward, the goddess is bejeweled with a necklace, bracelets, and anklets made of solid gold wire.
The provenance of this lovely artifact is Khisfin , mentioned in ancient sources as Kasphon, Kapsin, or Chasphon. This village is located in the occupied Golan Heights southwest of Quneitra. It currently is an Israeli colony (euphemistically called a "settlement") called Hapsin.

كنوز متحف دمشق الوطني
تمثال برونزي للزهرة ربّة الجمال والحبّ من القرن الثاني أو الثالث للميلاد. ارتفاع التمثال بما فيه القاعدة ٢٥،٥ سم وعرضه ٦،٨ سم. الزهرة هنا حالية بعقد يطوّق جيدها وأساور في معصميها وخلاخل حول كاحليها من الذهب وتمسك نعلها بيدها اليمنى. مصدر النحت بلدة خسفين في الجولان جنوب وغرب القنيطرة (تحت الاحتلال الإسرائيلي منذ نصف قرن) . أهدى السيّد أنطوان حدّاد هذه التحفة الفنيّة العريقة إلى متحف دمشق عام ١٩٤٣ للميلاد.
