Though the custom and accoutrements of the sultan and his companions (1) seem to be embellished with details of different periods, the survival of his figure and his work is attested in his presence in the gallery of works, not too numerous, of this artisan painter of Damascus (2).
(2). As written on the panel, the artisan is none other than the regretted abu Ṣubḥi at-Tīnāwi.
