Emir Miṯqāl, companion in arms of Saladin, rests in this mausoleum now invaded by shrubbery and climbing plants. It is found on the slopes of aš-Šarkasīyya in the direction of the Mosque of Šayẖ Muḥyi ad-Dīn, facing an ancient Mamlūk mosque.
The building is identified by three inscriptions naming the deceased and indicating the date of construction (Rabīʿ II 621 AH = May 1224 CE). The reference standard remains Sauvaget in "les monuments ayyoubides de Damas livraison III", published in 1948.
